Paul’s Basement

Back in mid-2005, some friends and I slapped together a website (paulsbasement.org, no longer visible, sadly) where we could post some autobiographical things we had been writing. Later, we hosted Paul’s Basement parties, wrote a few songs together, posted a bunch of short films we made, and even had t-shirts printed.
Those were heady times, but eventually we were overtaken by the business of raising families and getting the oil changed in the Prius, and also Paul got bored and stopped maintaining the site. Sadly, what began as an exciting forum for celebrating our shared history now lies fallow.
Which is why I moved all of my stuff here.
Jason Goes to Hell: Part I
This was by no means the beginning of my troubles; within the recent past I had experienced unemployment, staples hammered into my flesh, and vomiting on myself in a ditch at night during a torrential rainstorm.

The Fixx (and How to Get it): Part II
“In their music, popular groups are putting across fornication and drugs as a way of life… What possible meeting of the minds can there be between true Christians and the attitudes manifested in such lyrics and philosophy?” – Watchtower magazine, 1/15/83
The Fixx (and How to Get it): Part I
“Hey, you guys!” Eric shouts with barely-contained glee, “I think GENE SISKEL is going to be here tonight!”
Coachella 2007 in Fragments
I imagined walking into Target, and seeing those cute young cashiers, and having to admit that I had bailed on the long-awaited reunion of Rage Against the Machine because I had a cold, and that humiliation was intolerable to me.
Into the Forest
“He claims he’s just relocating the squirrels,” notes Ed, as the film fades to black.

The Lady Vanishes is with no doubt in my mind one of Alfred Hitchock's best creations and, keeping in mind…
Omg you are amazing
Sea buckthorn oil has a lot of omega seven unsaturated oil. It is claimed to help membranes work better.
Glad to hear you found it worthwhile/compelling, Jeff! Let's catch up after the first of the year.
Honestly, once you get to "proceed to part three" and then there is a sentence about feral dogs and being…
