Travel

Below, you will find my writing, photos, and videos about notable trips I have taken, stretching from a disastrous Disneyland vacation in 1983, right up to more recent journeys to Thailand and Romania.

Zion and Bryce, July 2019 (Part 1)

“The signs say no food on the bus, but the rules are different before 6 am, so just don’t make a mess. Welcome to Zion.” CLICK.

Thailand, December 2017 (Part 4)

“Co… Co… I am sorry, what is this book?”
“Um, it’s called Cocaine Nights…”
“Ah. We do not have this in Thailand.”

Thailand, December 2017 (Part 3)

“When the snake is stressed, it may inflate a bag of air in its neck, making it appear larger in size. In captivity, it has quite the ‘attitude’ and may strike at or bite an unwary handler.”

Thailand, December 2017 (Part 2)

“Each has its own characteristics: one constantly moves its mouth, while another has a phallus-shaped index finger…”

SRL in SF, November 1995

A parking lot had been rented for the night, but I am fairly certain that the lot owners had no idea what was about to happen.

Robot Wars in SF, August 1994

Defying my expectations, it ended up being the most enjoyable trip to San Francisco I’ve ever taken. Except for the part at the end, when Eric was passing a kidney stone.

Canada Trip, October 2011

Whenever we recall this vacation in the future, we’ll probably say, “Remember that time we went to Canada and that coked-up nutcase plowed into us and totaled the Prius?”

Southern US Road Trip, July 2011

“I’ve never really been to the Southern U.S.,” said Max, so that’s where we decided to go, despite the energy-sapping late-July heat and humidity.

SXSW, March 2010

SXSW is a sprawling annual film/tech/music conference-cum-festival in Austin, Texas.

Bilbao, January 2010

Robin and I traveled to Bilbao, Spain to attend the wedding of our beloved friends William and Carlos. We took the opportunity to do a little sightseeing, as well.
